Where does the Minster Development name come?

& how relevant is it? Why have a cathedral and a blank book as your logo?

When I partnered in the founding of Minster Development Centre Ltd we wanted something which said something about us.  So "Development Centre" signifies we develop organisations and people.  Simple !! but why Minster?

Minster is the location which chose us.  We were offered a small office for 3 months, no rent, by our Accountant who believed in us and our vision.  This office was located just a stone's throw from Minster Pool adjacent to Lichfield Cathedral and its history going back many hundreds of years is best described at https://lichfieldhistoricparks.co.uk/minster-pool-walk/about-minster-pool-and-walk/ - so we denoted longevity, continuity and consistency (we believed) and after 30+ years in learning & development I think we can claim now this.

When, 25 years ago, we started doing European projects we found our European visitors from many of the 27 countries loved Lichfield.  It is very small by city standards, no need for a car or a bus, your feet can take you around Lichfield in a short while; you can wander, have a beer or coffee, see the ancient buildings, visit St. Mary's Heritage Centre (itself an relic of a bygone age which houses many splendid antiquities of the past) and our beautiful and unique cathedral believed to be the only cathedral in the world with 3 spires.  Last by no means least our connection to Charles Darwin through Erasmus Darwin (his abode) and "Erasmus" being the name given to European projects.  Everyone had to have their photographs taken in front of Darwin House and see more artefacts inside.

Finally, in our logo we have the open book, means we are open to new learning & development, management of organisations and leadership.  New skills and competences via vocational education through to artificial intelligence and its impact.
